Twitter at our finger tips
Twitter is another form of blogging. The only difference is that with twitter we only have a certain amount of characteristics we can use to get our message across. With technology being so advanced now-a-days we are able to tweet from the palm of our hand whenever we feel like. For instance a student may be able to tweet during their classes, after their classes, during lunch, when they wake up and so on. For everybody who has a twitter account which is most of us we know how quickly we can tweet and get a message out their to our peers. We are able to reach hundreds of our followers with messages that we think they will enjoy. A lot of people will use twitter to complain and I wish we could take those peoples accounts away from them. This technology is useful when a person wants to let their followers know about important things that may have taken place in their life or even funny things that have happened to them throughout the day.
Celebrities on Twitter
A large amount of celebrities are tweeting away daily to let their fans know where they are, what they are doing, and getting a day in the life experience of what a celebrity deals with. The top 10 celebrities on twitter today are
#1- Justin Bieber (45,284,157 followers)
#2- Katy Perry
#3-Lady Gaga
#4-Barack Obama
#5-Taylor Swift
#6-Youtube
#7-Britney Spears
#8-Rihanna
#9-Instagram
#10-Justin Timberlake (26,547,251 followers)
With celebrities getting this many followers a person can have a fan base where ever they go whenever they want by just posting a tweet letting their fans know exactly where they are at. Some celebrities will have contests to their fans to give away autographs or clothing or other things.
I follow a couple Major League Baseball players and they will tweet about give-a-ways that they are doing and they usually get a large turn out on how many people enter to win whatever they are giving away. This helps fans feel a special connection to their heroes and favorite athletes. It makes normal people feel as if they are connected to them and that they are close friends with one another since you are following them on twitter and occasionally a celebrity or athlete will follow you back.

Twitter helping out businesses
Twitter is a great way for businesses to reach their customers via social media. On twitter businesses can promote new items, give previews of products before they hit the market, and can sometimes have contests and promotions for customers to receive discounts on merchandise. You can do a lot with 140 characters in order to draw more business to your company. A company can post videos and photos to help with their promotion techniques to reach the customers more efficiently. With twitter businesses can reach much larger number of customers that are interested in their company. This is a more effective way to reach customers rather then commercials on TV and internet ads.

The beginning of Twitter!

Twitter was founded in 2006 by Jack Dorsey. Twitter started off as another way to send text messages which were originally limited to 160 characters per message. Twitter shortened down the characters one was able to use down to 140 characters per tweet. Twitter allowed people to communicate to small groups rather then sending out a bunch of text messages and wasting your text messages. Twitter was originally name "twttr", which is a shortened version of Twitter.
Little did the founder know how successful his invention would become in the near future. Twitter is now a worldwide service for people to use to stay closer connected with friends, classmates, coworkers, celebrities, athletes and politicians. Even the President of the United States, Barack Obama has a twitter account and his tweet after his inauguration was one of the most retweeted tweets ever. As of 2012 there were 500 million users on twitter. Twitter users would post about 340 million tweets per day. That is a combined total through every twitter user.
